In hypnotherapy you are awake and simply in a state of deep relaxation. You are acutely focused on my voice and by my asking questions about how you experience the world, we look together to change the way you process, create and maintain any problems and subsequent behaviours in the present.
From this standpoint we are able to create a plan of treatment that is unique to your situation and work with you to finally allow for the possibility of change and the achievement of your desired goals. It's very exciting.
Hypnosis is merely focused attention. The condition of heightened acceptance minus the usual noise and often critical real-life voice, permits the ideas for change which we tend to block or turn away from. Why? Because our subconscious tells us we can't or that we're not good enough - and in truth, there is very little we can't do.
